Since 1989, we have continued to evolve the ES, striving to create a better vehicle with every transformation. And now, we have done it again. We’ve made the sedan even quieter and more comfortable while taking its performance and design to a whole new level.
Our Chief Engineer Tetsuya Aoki describes how the ES has progressed throughout the years and shares what makes the new ES an amazing sedan.

We believe that a vehicle is an extension of the driver’s intent. That’s why we engineered the new ES to have a seamless connection between acceleration, deceleration, and steering in any driving situation.

CONQUER THE ROAD
A proprietary Lexus method was employed to increase the rigidity of the rear suspension-member braces. This allows for superior steering stability and a more linear driving sensation even when performing high-speed lane changes.
TOTAL CONTROL
We’ve used a new shape for the brake pedal with an expanded surface area to increase the contact area for your foot. The lateral rigidity of the pedal has also been enhanced. Together, these upgrades improve your sense of stability when braking.
DESIGN
SOPHISTICATED CRAFTSMANSHIP
Designed with modernity in mind, the new ES has a sleeker appearance, a more distinguished grille, and an artistically crafted cabin.
ELEGANCE MEETS STYLE
The new ES takes on a sharper, more elegant appearance with a newly designed front grille, slender headlamp units, and stylish wheels. Adding a touch of class are our specially designed colors – Sonic Iridium and Sonic Chrome. These body paints offer the new ES a metallic, high-gloss finish.
AN EXQUISITE CABIN
Our takumi craftsmen have transformed the interior of the new ES into a tranquil space with a newly developed color tone – Mauve. Also used in the cabin is a luxurious walnut material finish and intricate hairline ornamentation that is etched one at a time using a laser. These artistic elements work together to create a serene ambience.
TOUCH-SCREEN MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM
The multimedia system in the cockpit now features a touch screen. The display is made of glass for improved visibility and is positioned at a perfect angle and optimum distance for easy access.

PEACE OF MIND
We are constantly developing safety technologies to protect you better. That’s why we incorporated some of the most innovative safety features in the new ES.
LEXUS SAFETY SYSTEM+
We upgraded the Lexus Safety System+ to protect you even more effectively. Included as part of the system is Emergency Steering Assist, which prevents lane departure during an evasive steering maneuver.
PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM
The Pre-Collision System has been enhanced with an increased response range. This intelligent system uses sensors to detect vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. It automatically activates pre-collision braking to avoid potential accidents.
LANE TRACING ASSIST
We’ve made the Lane Tracing Assist system smoother and more precise. This technology uses a forward-facing camera to monitor lane markings and will automatically apply steering inputs to keep the vehicle centered in its lane.
BLADESCAN™ ADAPTIVE HIGH-BEAM SYSTEM
We have incorporated BladeScan™ Adaptive High-beam System into the new ES. The advanced headlight technology illuminates the road ahead with increased precision, optimal light distribution, and a broader range. This allows you to easily recognize pedestrians and road signs without impeding the visibility of drivers in the opposite direction.
10 SRS AIRBAGS
Collision impact is greatly reduced with 10 sensor-controlled SRS airbags lining the cabin, providing enhanced protection for all occupants.
PARKING SUPPORT BRAKE
Parking Support Brake automatically brakes when a collision is imminent by detecting static objects at the front or rear, and vehicles approaching from the back.
